Why did this work?
Take an example. Large fast food chains have the most expensive apps on a kiosk that customers can use for self-order, they have a drive-through, and cashiers, so customers can still order at the till, and they’re taking orders for delivery
But still, there are loads of people in and around the restaurant. In fact, customers complain about “not being able to get near the counter…due to the enormous number of delivery drivers”.
What this means, in short, is that there is no total and perfect solution! Apps and kiosks don’t get rid of the need for cashiers. In addition, drive-throughs are already a form of remote cashier!
